The North Strand Senior Health Center is designed to provide healthcare that meets the unique needs of adults age 55 and over. A department of Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, our Center is staffed with specially trained healthcare professionals who will help you assess, manage and prevent health-related problems.
Our healthcare team, headed by a primary care physician who specializes in geriatrics, works together to promote your physical, emotional and social well being.

At the Senior Health Center, we believe high-quality, primary care should be affordable. Thats why we accept Medicare assignment and supplemental insurance carriers. More importantly, our staff is available to answer any questions you may have about billing, Medicare and other insurance coverage.

One of the Centers major objectives is to simplify the healthcare process for seniors. Instead of having to make several different appointments, for example, you can now make just one phone call for a comprehensive array of services.
The Senior Health Center provides:

+ Referrals to medical specialists when you need additional care;
+ Assistance with questions you may have after we bill Medicare and supplemental insurance carriers;

Lisa Mount, MD

Dr. Lisa Mount is medical director of the North Strand and South Strand Senior Health Centers. Dr. Mount joined the North Strand Senior Health Center in July 1998. She attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and completesd a residency in internal medicine at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Dr. Mount completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Duke University. She is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine.
John Carlson, MD

Dr. John Carlson joined the North Strand Senior Health Center in June 2001. Dr. Carlson attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and completed a residency in geriatric medicine at the University of Wisconsin/Middleton Veteran's Hospital. Dr. Carlson is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric melldicine.
Location
The North Strand Senior Health Center is located in Suite 150 in the River Hills Medical Plaza, 4237 River Hills Drive in Little River, across from Coquina Harbor on Highway 17 North. The Center is open from 8 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm on Friday.
