24-Hour Emergency Service

Regardless of the time of day or night, South Strand Ambulatory Care Center's 24-hour Emergency Department is ready to serve the patients' needs. Staff by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, this state-of-the-art facility offers the latest in medical technology, and can take care of all medical emergencies from minor cuts and scrapes to major illnesses and accidents.

A "Fast Track" program provides quick treatment of minor injuries and illnesses.

Radiology and Laboratory Services

Radiology and laboratory services enable those on the South Strand to have many diagnostic procedures performed close to home. With a physician's order, patients can have X-rays, CT and MRI scans, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, mammograms, bone densitometry tests and blood work done at their convenience.

Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

South Strand Ambulatory Care Center offers both cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. These medically supervised programs include exercise, nutritional counseling, education and risk factor counseling. The cardiac program is for individuals who have had a heart attack, angina or open heart surgery. The pulmonary rehabilitation program is for those who suffer from pulmonary conditions and chronic lung diseases such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma, bronchiectasis and pulmonary fibrosis.

South Strand Ambulatory Care Center is located on Highway 17 Bypass between Highways 707 and 544 in south Myrtle Beach. This 50,000 square foot facility features a 24-hour emergency department, laboratory and radiology services, cardiac rehabilitation and support services.
